Louisiana WAP Application Information
The Louisiana Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a federally funded program that promotes energy efficiency among low income families in the state. This program helps low-income households to reduce their cost of energy as well as implement health and safety measures in their homes. In order to qualify for the Louisiana WAP, applicants must be residents of the state of Louisiana and US citizens or registered legal aliens.
Participation in other Social Service Programs
Individuals applying for the Louisiana WAP, who is currently participating in other social service programs such as AID for families with children, TANF, SSI and LIHEAP are automatically eligible for the program. This stems from the fact that these programs have similar eligibility requirements to the Louisiana WAP.
