WAP Application Instructions


To receive Hawaii WAP benefits, you can use any of the following methods.

  1. Apply through State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations: You can also apply through State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations by calling at 808-586-8675.

  2. Apply through local WAP provider: Apply with your local WAP provider. Here is a list of providers in different counties. You will find a list of WAP providers for each county below.

Eligibility Requirements


Applicants will need to meet some requirements to receive assistance through Hawaii WAP.

  • Applicants should be U.S citizen or a legal alien. Applicants will need to furnish proof of their citizenship or provide alien certificate.

  • Applicants should be residents of state of Hawaii. A proof of current residence will be needed to establish eligibility.

  • Applicant's annual household income should be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line (FPL). Income proof will be required to prove eligibility for Hawaii WAP. Applicants receiving SSI or TANF benefits will be automatically income eligible for the program.

If your family has more than eight people, you can add $10,860 ($905 monthly) for each additional person to find annual gross income limit for the household.
