LIHEAP Application Instructions
In order to apply for Rhode Island LIHEAP assistance, you will need to visit your local office of Community Action Program (CAP) agency. You can find a list of CAP offices in Rhode Island using this link.
When you visit your local CAP office, you will have to make sure that you take a recent copy of your utility bill with you. You will also need to take your payroll stub with you so that you can prove your income eligibility. You will also need to establish proof of your residence while visiting your local CAP to apply for LIHEAP assistance. The best way to know what to take with you is to call LIHEAP helpline at (401) 574-9100, and ask for all the documents that you may have to exhibit at the interview.
