WIC Application Instructions
To apply for WIC in South Carolina, you will have to contact your local health department or WIC clinic. You can find a map with all WIC office locations here.
When you apply for WIC, you will be provided a date for interview. At the interview, you will have to take certain documents with you. If you have applied for a child, you will have to take the child to WIC office for examination.
The documents you need to bring at WIC office are:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of residence
- Proof of income

Eligibility Requirements
In order to apply for South Carolina WIC, you will have to meet categorical eligibility. The following persons are eligible:
- Infants under the age of one year
- Children under the age of five years
- Pregnant women
- Breastfeeding women
Once you meet the categorical eligibility, you will also have to meet the following additional eligibility criteria:
- Be a U.S citizen or a qualified alien
- Be a resident of South Carolina
- Be on a nutrition risk, either diet risk or medical risk
- Meet income eligibility for the program
WIC Income Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should have household income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Line (FPL). Here is the chart for annual income according to the household size.
