WAP Application Instructions

By contacting your local weatherization agency you will meet a program representative who will guide you through the application process.

Upon successful completion of the application process you will start receiving the benefits of the Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).


Eligibility Requirements


In order to qualify for the Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), applicants must meet a set of eligibility requirements. These eligibility requirements are based on the applicant’s income, area of residents and participatory status in other social service programs such as TANF, SSI, and AID for families with children and LIHEAP.

In order to qualify for the Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), applicants must have an income that is either equal to or less than the specified income maximums. Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) -Residential Eligibility Requirements

In order to qualify for the Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), applicants must be residents of the state of Virginia and either a US national or a registered legal alien.

Participation in Other Social Service Programs

Applicants to the Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), currently participating in other social service programs such as TANF, LIHEAP, SSI, and AID for families with children are considered automatically eligible for the program. This stems from the fact that these programs have similar eligibility requirements to the Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program.
