Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) manages Unemployment Insurance program. This program provides temporary financial assistance to unemployed workers who have lost their employment through no fault of their own. This temporary assistance is available to all individuals unemployed workers in Indiana if they meet certain eligibility criteria. The benefits are not retroactive and are only available from the time a UI claim is filed. The individuals receiving UI benefits may have to register for work with Indiana Career Connect.

Managing Your UI Claim Online
After you have filed your claim online, you will need to come back to Uplink CSS portal and complete your claim voucher. You can also manage your claim and payments from CSS portal. Ideally you should visit Uplink CSS every week for updates and information about your benefits.
You will be required to file a voucher each week for as long as you are unemployed and eligible for UI benefits.

Unemployment Application Instructions
You can follow these simple steps to file a claim for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits.
1- Access Uplink CSS to start your claim online. You can file your initial and subsequent weekly claims at any time during the week. The online service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
2- Make sure you have the necessary documents with you so that you can complete the application easily. You will need to provide your name, address, Social Security Number, work history and reason for separation from last employer.
3- While the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) processes your claim, you must return to CSS portal within one week and fill out your claim voucher. You should continue to file your weekly claims online the same way you filed your initial claim.
4- Be ready to visit WorkOne Center when required.
5- In most cases you will be required to register for work at Indiana Career Connect.
