Kansas WAP Application Information

The Kansas Weatherization Assistance program (WAP) is an energy efficiency program that helps to reduce the proportion of income spent on energy relates utilities by low-income households in the state of Kansas. Some of the energy efficiency measures implemented by the Kansas WAP include:

  • Caulking doors and windows

  • Repair of refrigerators, heating and cooling systems

  • Addition of insulation to walls. ceilings and house foundations

  • Measures for infiltration reduction

This program serves its beneficiaries through a network of Community Action Agencies (CAA), which are spread across the state. Kansas WAP- Residential Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the program applicants for the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) must be residents of the state of Kansas and US citizens or registered legal aliens.

Participation in Other Social Service Programs

Applicants for the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), who are already participating in other social service programs such as SSI, TANF, and LIHEAP, are considered automatically eligible for the program. This is attributed to the fact that the eligibility requirements for these programs are quite similar to the ones required by the Kansas WAP.
